Biology teacher
Description
Platon Private School, a proud member of the International Schools Partnership (ISP),is seeking a passionate and experienced IB Biology Teacher to join our dynamic Science Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biology and a deep understanding of the IB Diploma Programme (DP) and/or Middle Years Programme (MYP).You will inspire students to explore the natural world, think scientifically, and apply biological concepts to real-life situations, while nurturing their independent research and inquiry skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the IB curriculum.
- Assess, record, and report on students’ progress according to IB standards.
- Supervise Internal Assessments and Extended Essays where applicable.
- Contribute to curriculum development and cross-disciplinary projects.
- Participate actively in school events, professional learning, and departmental collaboration.
- Support students’ personal and academic growth within the IB learner profile framework.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Teaching qualification or certification required.
- Minimum [2–3] years of teaching experience, preferably in an IB school.
- Excellent command of English (native or near-native fluency).
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with inquiry-based and student-centered teaching approaches.
